Investment Risks

Past performance may not be indicative of future results. Therefore, no current or prospective client should assume that future performance of any specific investment, investment strategy (including the investments and/or investment strategies recommended or undertaken by Main Street) or product made reference to directly or indirectly by Main Street on its website, or indirectly via a link to an unaffiliated third party website, will be profitable or equal to the corresponding indicated performance level(s). Different types of investments involve varying degrees of risk, and there can be no assurance that any specific investment will either be suitable or profitable for a client or prospective client’s investment portfolio. Historical performance results for investment indices and/or categories generally do not reflect the deduction of transaction and/or custodial charges, the deduction of an investment management fee, nor the impact of taxes, the incurrence of which would have the effect of decreasing historical performance results.

Fee Disclosures

The firm offers clients two different fee structure options, one based solely on client assets under management (Traditional Fee), or one based on a combination of assets and performance (Performance-based Fee). While the performance-based fee structure aligns the interests of management with those of the client’s results, it may create an incentive for the firm to recommend riskier investments to generate higher returns. Further, since the firm also manages client accounts that do not pay performance-based fees, it may create an incentive for the firm to favor performance-based fee accounts. However, as a fiduciary, the firm aims to act in the best interest of its clients and subscribes to managing traditional fee and performance-based fee clients in a similar fashion.

*In order to select our performance based fee, the Client must be a “Qualified Client” within the meaning of the US Securities and Exchange Commission Investment Advisors Act of 1940, rule 205-3 as amended.  This criterion would include either a total net worth of $2,200,000 or assets under management with Main Street Research LLC of $1,100,000 or more. A minimum investment is required – please inquire.

FA Financial Advisor Magazine Ranking

Main Street Research is independent of and unaffiliated with Financial Advisor Magazine (FA Magazine), the creator of the 2016 Registered Investment Advisor (“RIA”) Survey & Ranking. The rating noted was given based on specific criteria and methodology defined by FA Magazine. Main Street Research did not pay a fee to be included in the database. FA Magazine ranked 610 RIA participants based solely on the growth rate of discretionary and non-discretionary assets under management as reported on their firms’ 2014 and 2015 form ADV.  The ratings are for informational purposes only and no warranty is either expressed or implied by their presentation. The ratings may not be representative of any one client’s experience because it reflects an average of all, or sample of all, the experiences of an adviser’s clients. Main Street’s receipt of such rating should not be considered a guarantee of future performance or results.

The FA’s top adviser rating(“accolade”) is presented for informational purposes only; no warranty is either expressed or implied by its presentation. The accolade may not be representative of actual or specific client experiences and should not be considered an endorsement. Main Street Research LLC (MSR) acknowledges the rating reflects an average of all, or sample of all, of an advisor’s or the firm’s clients and thus may not be representative of any single client’s experience. MSR’s receipt of accolades should not be considered a guarantee of future performance results. MSR is independent and unaffiliated with Financial Advisor magazine and did not pay a fee to be included in the databases and rankings.  The ratings are not indicative of future performance. FA’s RIA Ranking is an independent listing produced by Financial Advisor magazine. To be eligible for the ranking, firms must be independent registered investment advisors and file their own ADV statement with the SEC and provide financial planning and related services to individual clients. Firms must have at least $100 million in assets undermanagement as of December 31, 2020, to be included in the print edition of Financial Advisor magazine.

Barrons Ranking

Barron's 2024 rankings are based on data provided by around 6,000 of the nation's most productive advisors. Factors included in the rankings: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice, and philanthropic work. Main Street Research, LLC is independent and unaffiliated with Barron’s and did not pay a fee to be included in the rankings.  The ratings are not indicative of future performance.

Financial Times Ranking

Financial Times Magazine (FT magazine) ranked 740 SEC registered firms with over $300 million in assets under management (AUM) in 2020 based on asset growth, company age, industry certifications of key employees, SEC compliance records and online accessibility.  The ratings may not be representative of any one client’s experience because it reflects an average of all the experiences of an adviser’s clients.

Forbes | SHOOK Research Top RIA Firms

Main Street Research is independent of and unaffiliated with Forbes Magazine. The ranking noted was given based on specific criteria and methodology defined by Forbes Magazine. Main Street Research did not pay a fee to be included in the ranking database. The Forbes ranking of America’s Top RIA Firms, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone, virtual and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. The algorithm weighs factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience, and those that encompass best practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK receive a fee in exchange for rankings. The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience because it reflects an average of all, or sample of all, the experiences of an adviser’s clients. Main Street’s receipt of such a ranking should not be considered a guarantee of future performance or results.
