Jacob Swartz is the Director of Research and a Private Client Adviser at Main Street Research, where he leads the firm’s market research initiatives and provides comprehensive, bespoke wealth management services to clients. He holds the Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS) designation, equipping him with deep expertise in financial, estate, and charitable planning. Combined with his prior experience mastering technical portfolio construction and analysis at Bloomberg LP, Jacob serves as a well-rounded resource across all areas of finance.
Driven by a passion for community impact, Jacob spearheads the firm’s philanthropic planning efforts—helping clients maximize their charitable giving while advising nonprofit organizations on financial management and investment strategy. He plays an essential role in the creation and refinement of investment policy statements and spending policies, guiding organizations as they build durable, mission-aligned portfolios that support long-term stability. Jacob also serves on the Board of Directors for Buckelew Programs, a vital Bay Area organization providing critical mental health and addiction rehabilitation services.
Jacob graduated from Chapman University’s Argyros School of Business and Economics with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and holds a Series 65 securities license.
Outside of work, Jacob is an avid kiteboarder, surfer, and cyclist. He is based out of the firm’s headquarters in Sausalito, CA.
