
Lily Taft Richard, CFA
Partner – Chief Strategy Officer
Lily co-leads strategic efforts alongside our Founder-CIO, James Demmert and our Managing Partner, Benjamin Armellini. Her work is focused on investing and institutional relationships. Lily serves a select group of ultra-high-net-worth clients.
On the Investment Policy Committee, Lily adds depth to our equity research process and serves as a voting member. As a CFA® Charterholder, Lily’s expertise in individual security selection and portfolio management adds value to our process and results for clients.
Lily serves as a valuable resource for our West Coast institutional relationships, specifically working with partners of the Charles Schwab Advisor Network. She is also closely involved with local community and professional groups, such as the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, tax advisors, and attorneys in the Bay Area.
Lily is involved in the firm’s quarterly communications, messaging, and video strategy updates. She also regularly contributes thought leadership to local publications, conferences, and speaking engagements.
Lily graduated summa cum laude from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management, majoring in finance. Her time as a student included authoring small-cap equity research reports through the Burkenroad program, as well as managing a portion of the university’s $1.3 billion endowment through the Darwin Fenner fund. She is an active council member of the CFA Society San Francisco.
Her professional interests include the growth/innovation economy, digital assets, supporting women in business, sustainable finance, momentum-based investment strategies, and solutions for clients with concentrated equity positions.
Outside of the office, Lily enjoys studying French, traveling, yoga, exploring new restaurants or recipes, and dressing up for any type of theme party. She’s also an outdoor enthusiast and can often be found skiing, hiking, cycling, and paddleboarding, especially in Lake Tahoe. Lily is based out of our headquarters in Sausalito, CA.
CFA Disclosure: The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation requires the holder to pass three six-hour exams, possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent, as assessed by CFA institute) and have 48 months of qualified, professional work experience.
